  • Artisan must be based in NC. Local artisans are required to drop off and pick up products (within a 50 mile radius of FV).

  • Artisan is responsible for delivering items ready to sell with business’ branding, packaging, tags, and business cards as applicable.

  • We ask that you provide a valid state Employer Identification Number (EIN) a.k.a a Federal Tax I.D. Number if your business requires it. Please visit irs.gov to figure out if your business requires an EIN.

Sales Models

We partner directly with artisans to offer a curated selection of handmade goods and artwork in our marketplace. We do this through consignment contracts or via Faire, an online wholesale marketplace. Every product is hand select items to be merchandised together in the shop. We do not rent spaces or charge monthly fees.

  • Consignment - You receive 60% of retail sale of your product, CCMP receives 40%* when sold.

    • Artisan sets the retail price and provides an initial inventory of selected products and will be notified to restock as needed.

    • Consignment cycles run quarterly, for 3 months at a time. Unsold items are returned unless invited to renew contract.

  • Wholesale - CCM pays 50% of the retail price for your products.

    • Wholesale is available for artisans who sell on Faire (or other wholesale system/site).

      • Artisans not on Faire must be able to provide enough inventory to wholesale.

If accepted, you will receive a contract outlining additional details and specifics regarding selling in our shop.

We understand that with handmade, it isn't one size fits all and we will work with you to find the right sales model for your business and products!

A Note on Commission

CCM’s commission covers merchandising and displaying your products in a curated storefront of NC-based artists and small businesses. Our shop is located in a fast-growing area on the Main St. in downtown Fuquay-Varina, right by new and established retail shops and restaurants. Our team is passionate about supporting small, local makers and creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. In addition to our regular retail hours we also host workshops and events! CCM provides all displays, bags and wrapping, and adds products to our inventory system for easy check out and sales tracking. Most importantly, we make it a priority to develop relationships with each of the artisans in our shop and be knowledgeable about the products we carry! Commission collected goes directly back into supporting our small, family-run business and other small businesses locally and nationwide.

Tips for Applying

Here are some additional things we look for when reviewing applications:

  • You are familiar with our shop and offerings! We encourage you to visit the shop to get a feel for the vibe of our space, price point of our products, and to see what types of products we already offer. If you think you’d be a good fit, please fill out the Interest Form online. We kindly ask that you do not bring products or show images of your work to our team.

  • Your business has a website with clear, quality images of your products and/or artwork.

    • We can also look at your Etsy or product catalog if available (anywhere you keep updated inventory with images). If none of these options are available we may request images via email or schedule an in person appointment if needed.

  • Your products show high craftsmanship, are well branded and/or packed, and overall align with the aesthetic of our marketplace.

  • Through Curated Craft Market, we have developed a network of local artisans. It is not a requirement to have participated in one of our pop-ups, but it is a great way for us to get to know you and your products. We encourage you to apply to a market to get to know us!

We are at capacity and our consignment application is currently closed until further notice. We encourage you to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Instagram @curatedcraftmarketplace for updates on when the application has been reopened.
